Escape Dreams

We make escape games with an inked, sketchbook look: locked doors, strange islands, and stories you piece together one note at a time.

Title screen of Trapped at Sea: a small fishing trawler with lit windows rides a stormy night sea while a lighthouse beam sweeps the horizon.

Our first game

Trapped at Sea

A storm. A shipwreck. An island that isn't as empty as it seems.

Our first game is a 2D point-and-click escape game with an inked, sketchbook-style look. You wake up on a ship being torn apart by a storm, and that's the easy part. Wash up on the island and you'll find an old castaway's journal, a cave painting nobody can explain, and signs that someone else lives deeper in the jungle.

  • Point-and-click escape
  • Chapters 1–3
  • PC

What goes into an Escape Dreams game

Sketchbook art. Fair puzzles. A mystery worth chasing.

  • The wood-paneled cabin of the trawler, with a pinned chart, a porthole and a life ring.

    Puzzles that play fair

Combination locks, sliding blocks, power routing, signal calibration and a stealth escape. Stuck? The ? button gives hints one step at a time, and can help with or skip a puzzle.

  • Inside the castaway's cabin: a bed, a desk lit by candles, a map on the wall and a heavy door.

    Stories you piece together

Every note and diary page lands in your journal, written by more than one hand. Missed a page? A torn-out stub marks the gap, so you know there's more to find.

  • A shadowy cave with a strange painting on the wall and an old skull resting on the sand.

    Drawn like a sketchbook

Ink-and-wash scenes in moody, muted color, with comic-book cutscenes between chapters, complete with lettered sound effects.

From the opening chapter

“The storm is getting worse by the minute...”

A four-panel comic. Lightning cracks outside the bridge windows (KRA-KOOM!). The sailor spots jagged rocks dead ahead, strains at the wheel (CREEEAK!), and the trawler smashes into the rocks (CRUNCH!).
Comic cutscenes like this one mark each turn of the story.

The studio

A family at the helm

Escape Dreams is Jason and Brianna Coggeshall, with Trenton, Clint and Tessa Coggeshall trying every lock before you do. We build our games in Godot, test them at home, and grow them chapter by chapter.
